Addison Rae’s dad, Monty Lopez, has claimed that his estranged wife, Kaitlyn Lopez, pulled a gun on him prior to his arrest for felony marijuana possession.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Monty asked the court to grant him an order of protection against Kaitlyn after she allegedly physically attacked him multiple times throughout their relationship. He claimed that Kaitlyn slapped and shoved him and, at one point, pulled out a gun and told him it was not for her.
Monty, 50, further claimed that Kaitlyn has problems with her parents, according to the report. He said her parents would confirm his claims about the gun.
In his filing, Monty requested exclusive use of their home and support from Kaitlyn, whom he married in October 2025.
A judge approved the protection order, which requires Kaitlyn to vacate the home and stay 100 yards away from her husband. The exes will face off in court next month, according to the outlet.
Us Weekly confirmed via the Lafayette Police Department online records that Monty was booked on Tuesday, April 28, for a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Days before his arrest, TMZ reported that authorities were called to Monty’s home on April 23. A rep for the Lafayette Police Department told the outlet that officers visited the home after receiving a mental health complaint. The incident reportedly turned into a criminal investigation, which may have led to Lopez’s arrest, according to the outlet.

Monty has a history of run-ins with the law. Back in February, Us obtained police records stating that he was arrested for obscenity. The alleged incident occurred on August 31, 2024, at a Walgreens in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Monty was arrested again in July 2025 and accused of “exposing his genitals, pubic hair, in a public place or place open to public view, or in any prison or jail, with the intent of arousing sexual desire or which appealed to the prurient interest or was patently offensive” by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was charged with felony obscenity and a sex crime and pleaded not guilty.
Monty shares Rae, 25, and sons Lucas, 26, and Enzo, 18, with ex-wife Sheri Easterling. The exes tied the knot in 2004 and divorced years later. They reconciled and remarried in 2014 but ultimately called it quits for good in 2022.
Monty is also a dad to daughter Macye from a previous relationship.
Rae opened up about her complicated relationship with her father in 2020.
“From about 3 to 6 for me … Dad wasn’t really in my life very much. I’m sure that was personal decisions on your part with Dad,” she said during an episode of her “That Was Fun?” podcast with her mom. “You guys, I’m sure, kind of established that, like, ‘Hey, we’re gonna need some space. We need to have our time to figure things out.’”
