Adele’s fans have heard some pretty incredible things come out of her mouth in the past, from her stunning voice to her hilarious comments. But a burp? That’s a first!
The “Send My Love (to Your New Lover)” singer, 28, invited a fan on stage during her performance at England’s Glastonbury Festival on Saturday, June 25 — and she accidentally belched in the poor girl’s face.
As superfan Maria reached out her arm to take a selfie with Adele, the singer asked, “Do you want me to do it?” before taking the girl’s cellphone.
After snapping the photo, Adele shouted, “Oh, my God, I just burped!” and launched into her famous cackle before giving Maria a hug. “I’ll see you later, Maria,” she said, still laughing.
As the fan, a native of Brazil, left the stage, the “Hello” crooner explained herself, telling the audience: “I had a dirty burger before I came on, that’s why.”
Adele’s performance was live-streamed online, so word quickly spread through the Twitterverse about her #Glastonburpy.
“How do I become mates with @Adele ? We’d have a laugh and I’ll let her burp in my face,” one user joked, while another tweeted, “When you travel all the way from Brazil for #Adele to burp in your face.”
Throughout her 90-minute set, the Grammy winner belted her biggest hits, including “Hello,” “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You,” as well as some fan favorites from her latest album, 25.
“This is the best f–king moment of my whole life,” she told the audience, before adding, “Glastonbury means the world to me. I’ve always wanted to do this my whole life, but I was too scared.”
