Adult film star Christian Styles’ cause of death has been revealed after he was found unresponsive by his parents.

Styles (real name was Zachary Christian Jaghab) died of alcohol and mitragynine toxicity, according to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s report obtained by Us on Tuesday, September 15. His manner of death was listed as accidental.

Mitragynine is the active ingredient in Kratom, a supplement used for pain relief and energy, according to Mayo Clinic. It carries risk of addiction, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned people against using the product due to its potential harm.

According to the ME’s report, Styles had a blood-alcohol level of 0.168, as well as mitragynine and many of its breakdown products in his blood. He also heavily used heroin, methamphetamine and alcohol. Lexapro, a prescription antidepressant, and Kratom were found at the scene.

Styles had been on a “bender of various substances for a prolonged time” before his death, the report noted. His parents had been checking on him hourly. He was last seen alive around 3 p.m. and was later discovered by his parents on August 20.

Styles’ parents told investigators after his death that he had a long history of addiction struggles and drug-related run-ins with the law.

Authorities suspected that Styles had overdosed.

Styles’ death was announced via a GoFundMe page last month. He was 29.

“Tammy is raising this fundraiser for the Jaghab family after the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Zachary Christian Jaghab, lovingly known as Zack, on August 20, 2026,” the page read. “Zack was the cherished youngest son of Johnny and Ellen Jaghab, a beloved brother to Tonya Faris and Jacob Jaghab, and an adored uncle, family member, and dear friend to many.”

The statement continued, “This unimaginable loss has left a beautiful Canton family grieving the passing of someone deeply loved. As they face the pain of losing Zack, Johnny and Ellen are also carrying their own serious health struggles, including cancer, making this season even more overwhelming.”

Proceeds from the fundraiser, which appears to have since been removed from the platform, went toward “Zack’s funeral and burial expenses so his family can give him the proper farewell he deserves without the added weight of financial stress.”

The page set an initial goal of $20,000.

“Tammy is asking for prayers, kindness, and any monetary support you may be able to give on behalf of the family,” the message noted. “Every donation, no matter the size, will help ease some of the burden during this devastating time and remind the Jaghab family that they are not facing this alone. Thank you for keeping Johnny, Ellen, and their loved ones in your thoughts and for supporting them with compassion and generosity.”
