Despite his recent troubles, Alec Baldwin can count on Hilaria Thomas to lift his spirits. On the same day Shia LaBeouf dropped out of the Broadway drama Orphans — and shared his e-mail exchange with Baldwin and the show's crew via Twitter — the 54-year-old actor was photographed kissing his pregnant yoga instructor wife as she hailed a cab in New York City on Thursday, Feb. 21.

LaBeouf, 26, quit the stage revival less than a month before preview performances were scheduled to begin. Producers claimed the young actor was bowing out "due to creative differences" in a Feb. 20 statement, but LaBeouf uploaded screen shot images of alleged e-mail exchanges with costars Baldwin and Tom Sturridge, director Daniel Sullivan and playwright Lyle Kessler.

The Transformers actor — who plagiarized Tom Chiarella's "What Is a Man?" essay, featured in Esquire's 2009 "How to Be a Man" issue — apologized to Baldwin for his "part of a disagreeable situation." He was later replaced by actor Ben Foster.

Baldwin shared his opinion on the situation via Twitter Feb. 21. "People keep asking me to comment about our recent issues at Orphans on Broadway," the actor tweeted. "My comment is: We have Ben Foster."

Still reeling from his legal troubles with The New York Post (he was accused of hurling racist insults at a photographer, which have yet to be proven), Baldwin also shared some well-wishes with one of his famous family members.

"I want to say happy 50th birthday to my brother Billy, one of the warmest, kindest, most caring people I've ever known. Billy is a great husband and father while maintaining a full load of his work and advocacy-related efforts. No different than many, perhaps, but always done with a combination of good nature, focus and intelligence," he tweeted. "Happy birthday, Billy. Having you as my brother is one of the things I cherish most in this life."

In happier news, Baldwin is looking forward to spending more time at home with his wife and unborn child now that 30 Rock has ended its seven-season run on NBC. (He already has a daughter, 17-year-old Ireland, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.)

"My dream is to be home with the baby," he recently told Extra. "Like, standing in the doorway, saying goodbye to Mommy. . . 'Mommy's going to work now. Bye, Mommy, see you when you come back!'"
