Alex Cooper is sharing her side of the story after Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia publicly shared her support for Alix Earle amid their ongoing feud.
“This girl on girl s*** needs to stop,” Cooper, 31, wrote via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, April 15. “While Alix tries to get her story together, let me address Brianna Chickenfry who is adding onto the fake narrative and dog pile.”
Cooper continued, “Brianna, you coming online saying I’m a mean girl, that I’m going to get destroyed, in peoples comments saying I hate Alex Cooper … Here are the facts. I have never met you in my life. The only communication we have ever had together is through DM.”
Cooper proceeded to share several screenshots of her alleged DMs with LaPaglia, which seemingly began in October 2022. In her first message, LaPaglia apologized to Cooper after Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy allegedly said Cooper host hates LaPaglia.
Cooper, for her part, denied that in her reply to LaPaglia. “I NEVER SAID THAT,” she wrote in the screenshot, adding that she was speaking with Portnoy about “how great [you’re doing] since joining Barstool.”
LaPaglia then called her “the queen of everything,” and Cooper replied with a screenshot of her alleged texts with Portnoy addressing the situation.
“I don’t hate you at all I respect what [you’re] building over there,” Cooper told LaPaglia. “Omg lol love you all good over here. Keep crushing tell Dave to shut up.”
In 2023, LaPaglia then seemingly replied to Cooper’s Instagram Story and sent support. The next year, Cooper seemingly addressed LaPaglia’s public split from Zach Bryan.
“Thank you Alex. feels so embarrassing I stayed so long but emotional abuse is so real. Happy to be out,” LaPaglia replied.
In the last screenshot shared via Cooper’s Instagram Story, the pair continued to converse before LaPaglia gave Cooper her phone number.
“I never invited you on ‘Call Her Daddy,’” Cooper continued in her statement on Wednesday. “Back during the Zach Bryan situation, I sent you a message of support. Then, you stopped podcasting with plan Bri and as we all know Grace [O’Malley] no longer had a show. As a business decision, Unwell then reached out and offered Grace a podcast. We never spoke negatively of you. Nothing negative happened during that time between Unwell, myself or you.”
She continued, “So speaking of mean girls … I have never met you in my life. What I just showed is the only interaction we’ve ever had. And you hate me? Wow. Please go back and read the DMs. That has never been the nature of our relationship. Now back to Alix. And no this is not a PR stunt.”
LaPaglia, for her part, responded via her Instagram Story on Wednesday. “OK, Alex Cooper just made a TikTok about me saying that she’s not a mean girl because we had nice DMs, before I found out everything about this girl,” LaPaglia said.
LaPaglia denied the idea that Cooper and Earle’s feud is a PR stunt, telling fans to “get a brain cell” who think that.
“I was a fan of Alex Cooper before I knew the wrath of f***ing Alex Cooper and what she does to people and how she treats people,” LaPaglia alleged. “I’m friends with Alix Earle. Alix Earle told me everything that transpired between those two two years ago at the Super Bowl, she told me everything. It didn’t happen at the Super Bowl but that’s when she told me everything … It’s not my story to tell so I didn’t tell it.”
She continued, “From what Alix Earle told me, Alex Cooper is a very, very mean person. Or maybe, when Dave called me, when Alex signed Grace to Unwell and she called Dave and said, ‘I don’t give a f*** about Grace. I don’t give a f*** about Brianna. All I care about is making money.’ Yeah, maybe my f***ing narrative switched on you after I found things out about you.”
Cooper’s statement comes after LaPaglia publicly sided with Earle amid their headline-making feud. Earle, whose “Hot Mess” podcast was dropped by Cooper’s Unwell Network, made headlines when she reposted a TikTok throwing shade at the “Call Her Daddy” host.
When Cooper uploaded a TikTok on Monday, April 13, asking Earle to publicly address their feud, Earle replied, “OK on it!!”
