Amanda Batula is shutting down fans’ questions over who will get custody of her and estranged husband Kyle Cooke‘s two dogs, Reese and Ryder, following their split.
“[Kyle] actually doesn’t want them,” Amanda, 35, replied to a fan encouraging her to “let [Kyle] keep the pups” in the comments section of her latest Instagram carousel on Thursday, October 29.
Us has reached out to Kyle’s representative for comment.
The original commenter was one of several people who expressed concern over how “skinny” Ryder looked in a photo shared by Amanda.
Another person claimed that the dachshund/bulldog mixes’ “weight is concerning,” adding their suspicion that Ryder may be suffering from “malnutrition.”
“Ryder has always been skinny and I’ve taken her to the vet for different testing over the years,” Amanda clarified. “Everything comes back normal and they say she’s healthy. It concerns me too.”
A third Instagram user encouraged Amanda to have Ryder “checked for kidney disease,” noting that the “simple blood work” ultimately “saved one of [their] babies.”
“We’ve done all the bloodwork! She’s healthy from what we can tell but I’m still looking into it,” Amanda wrote.
Amanda and Kyle adopted Reese and Ryder from Waldo’s Rescue Pen in New York in February 2022 after fostering both canines.
“It’s official — we adopted our rescue dogs ❤️🐕 Everyone meet Reese & Ryder,” Kyle, 44, announced via Instagram. “Amanda slept with them for a week because they would cry alone – sometimes in the pen, sometimes on the floor by their side.”
At the time, Kyle praised his wife’s dedication to getting their puppies adjusted to their new surroundings.
“I always knew she would be an amazing mom but I underestimated how much joy these little girls would bring her as a dog mom, and how much love she would give them in return,” he beamed.
In January, Kyle and Amanda stunned the Bravoverse by confirming they were separating after four years of marriage.
“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” Kyle and Amanda said in a joint statement on January 19. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”
They continued, “It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”
Amanda revealed she was dating Summer House costar West Wilson in March, despite both previously denying they had any romantic feelings for one another. (West, 31, dated Amanda’s close friend and Summer House costar Ciara Miller in the past.)
“Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care,” they said in a joint statement. “As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless. We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
Their relationship proved to be highly controversial among Summer House fans, with Amanda and West ultimately both exiting the Bravo show prior to filming on season 11.
Despite the controversy, a source exclusively told Us in late August that Amanda and West “are still going strong and are very serious.”
“They know many people doubted them, but they are doing really well and are still super happy,” the insider added.
Meanwhile, Bravoholics attending Bravo Fan Fest on Saturday, October 24, were shown an early preview of Summer House season 11, which featured a jaw-dropping scene where Kyle and Ciara, 30, kissed during a game of spin the bottle.
