Amanda Seyfried is enjoying single mom life — one prank at a time.
Seyfried, 40, took to Instagram on Tuesday, October 6, to share a hilarious video featuring her daughter, Nina, scaring her half to death.
In the clip, the actress strummed a dulcimer while singing a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You.” Nina, 9, silently snuck up on Seyfried while wearing a Ghostface mask from the beloved Scream franchise. The mischievous youngster got closer and closer to her mom, until Seyfried noticed her reflection in the camera.
I response, the actress gasped, screamed and leaned back from the camera while Nina stood there, laughing.
Her followers were quick to laugh along with her in the comments section.
“Not at any moment did I predict where this was going to go,” one wrote, while another added, “Omg Amanda !! lol I would have peed myself 🤣.” A third commented, “HA!!! She got you!!! Your daughter was so happy!!! 😱👻.”
Seyfried is also the mom of son Thomas Jr., 5, whom she shares with her estranged husband, Thomas Sadoski.
In September, the former couple released a joint statement announcing their split after nine years together.
“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit,” they told People. “We’ve got each other forever — and it’s good.”
Seyfried and Sadoski, 50, met in 2015 while playing a couple in the Off-Broadway play The Way We Get By. At the time, the Mamma Mia! star was dating Justin Long, while Sadoski was married to Kimberly Hope, whom he divorced later that year.
Seyfried later opened up about working with Sadoski, telling PorterEdit in 2018, “[He] never flirted, never disrespected his wife. That was another reason why I thought, later on, that I could marry him.”
In 2017, the duo reunited while filming The Last Word, which she gushed was “amazing.”
“It felt healthy and freeing and clean,” she said. “We can tell the story without any guilt.”
After six months of dating, Us broke the news that Sadoski got down on one knee and proposed to Seyfried. They tied the knot in secret in March 2017, while she was pregnant with Nina, whom she welcomed two weeks after their wedding.
In 2022, they expanded their family again with the birth of Thomas Jr. Seyfried and Sadoski later moved their family to a farm in upstate New York, with Seyfried frequently traveling to Los Angeles for work.
