Still her own woman! Amber Heard broke her silence on her recent marriage to Johnny Depp in a new cover story interview with Elle magazine, stunning on the front of the July issue.
The Magic Mike XXL star, 29, quietly exchanged vows with Depp, 52, this past February, holding multiple private ceremonies at their home in West Hollywood and on the beach in the Bahamas. The two began dating in 2012 after meeting on the set of The Rum Diary, but keep their relationship out of the public eye.
“Nothing is a dramatic change,” Heard told Elle of married life. “We’ve been together for a long time now, so it’s been a fairly organic process. I have a fiercely independent spirit.”
The gorgeous star echoed this need for independence when speaking to the mag about her professional career. She expressed her concern about fame taking over her life, keeping her from living as she pleases.
“The thing that really scares me is the potential of losing my freedom,” she said. “I never want for my life to lose the ability to transverse the world, with freedom and ease. The freedom and ease I have worked so hard to acquire for myself.”
The new Mrs. Depp looks beautiful on the cover of Elle. She offers a peek at two tattoos on her midsection in a plunging one-piece Thapelo Paris maillot. The buttoned white suit is paired with a Ralph Lauren Collection wool jacket and a handful of Fred Leighton rings.
Heard, who previously dated female photographer Tasya van Ree, wears her highlighted dark blonde locks in loose waves, and brings attention to her face with the pop of a bold red lip. The star is Depp’s second wife, following an earlier marriage in the 1980s to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison. The Pirates of the Caribbean star was also famously in a 14-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, and shares two children with the singer.
