The actress, who portrayed Marie Laveau in the third installment of the anthology, Coven, and now plays three-breasted Desiree Dupree in Freak Show, revealed in an interview with HuffPost Live that the show is about accepting people’s intricacies.

“It’s about compassion for the differences,” the 56-year-old said when asked the show’s overall message. “That’s what makes the world so interesting is that we are different and some folks are a little bit odd but they may have talent and wisdom we can learn from.”

Something new Bassett learned about this season was having an extra boob! The actress laughed that initially the prosthetics company contemplated having her wear only one extra fake breast along with her natural assets to portray her three-breasted character.

“They asked, ‘Do you want one? We can make you one.’ So I’d show mine and then the one and I was like, ‘No let’s improve on the whole situation!” she laughed.
