Drinking in style! Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour loved hosting boozy weekends at her beach house in Mastic, New York, this summer with actor pals Damian Lewis and Dominic West, a source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.
“They loved drinking and talking about how they miss England,” the insider says of the British trio. “They’d go through a ton of alcohol and laugh all night.”
Guests of the Hillary Clinton supporter, 66, left her Long Island home with an unique souvenir: a white cotton T-shirt reading “Make Mastic Great Again.”
“They’re the nicest white cotton T-shirts ever!” gushes the source.
While many A-listers typically flock farther east to the Hamptons during the warmer months, Wintour, dating businessman Shelby Bryan since 2004, has always been able to attract visitors to her waterfront abode.
“I just import the people I want,” she says in Kelly McMasters’ 2008 book Welcome to Shirley: A Memoir from an Atomic Town. “I don’t mind the town. It’s white trash, of course, but I don’t care.”
Wintour, who added the role of Conde Nast’s artistic director to her resume in 2013, even brought 180 friends and family members to the farmhouse for son Charles Shaffer (with ex-husband David Shaffer) and Elizabeth Cordry’s 2014 garden nuptials because of how homey if felt to the couple.
“When I first came to New York, we actually didn’t go to the city,” the Jet.com director told Vogue at the time. “We came straight out to Mastic from the airport.”
