Call it the Great Hollywood Heist of 2008-2009! On Thursday, Los Angeles police took four suspects into custody — with another arrested in Las Vegas — under suspicion of burglarizing the homes of boldfaced Hollywood names, the Associated Press reported.
Bail has been set at $50,000 each for Courtney Ames and Alexis Neiers, both 18, and for Diana Tamayo, 19, and Roy Lopez, Jr., 27; their friend Rachel Lee, 18, was arrested in Clark County, Nev. on related charges with a bail of $3,000.
Although authorities have yet to confirm, the quintet may be responsible for a string of robberies over the past eleven months in the homes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Audrina Patridge, Orlando Bloom and Rachel Bilson.
Another person of interest is Nicholas Prugo, 18 — a high school classmate of Lee, Ames, Neiers and Tamayo — arrested in September for allegedly stealing $170,000 in jewelry and clothes from Lohan and Patridge.
In a surprising twist, E! reported on Saturday that Neiers is involved in a pilot for the cable network. The network reported that shooting will continue, for now, despite her arrest.
