Ben Affleck cleaned up his look for Mother’s Day!
During an outing with most of his brood (newborn son Samuel stayed at home) Jennifer Garner‘s hubby swapped his usual scruffy beard and long, shaggy hair for a clean-shaven face and a shorter haircut. While shooting his film Agro — a thriller in which he’s starring, directing, and co-producing — last year, the actor skipped the routine haircuts and let his cleaned-up crew grow out.
Dressed in dark jeans, a blue sweater and a brown blazer, the dapper dad-on-duty, 39, kept his finger on his camera at all times as he, Garner and Seraphina, 3, made their way into 6-year-old Violet’s dance recital in Redondo Beach, Calif.
The 40-year-old actress, who gave birth to Samuel three months ago, looked casual in dark jeans, a loose-fitting coral top and a blue pashmina wrapped around her neck.
Last month, busy mom Garner was presented with the Female Star of the Year award in Las Vegas. During her speech, the actress, who looked svelte in a slimming black Michael Kors dress, recounted how her mom joked that the committee should take back the honor.
“She said, ‘Can they take this back? Because every time I talk to you, you are breastfeeding, you are running car pool, you are on the library committee — you are not acting!'” the actress said during her acceptance speech. “I said it’s not all about the now, it’s things you’ve done in the past or in the future, and she was like, ‘Honey, you have a weird job.'”
