Now that’s what we call a time warp! Blake Lively shared an adorable throwback photo on Thursday, Dec. 10, of herself as a tiny tot cozying up to ‘90s teen heartthrob Jason Priestley — and there’s more to the picture than meets the eye.
“#tbt to when Serena Van Der Woodsen and Brandon Walsh were a thing,” she captioned the snapshot, in which a big-eyed Lively has her arms wrapped around Priestley’s neck as the Beverly Hills, 90210 star grins at the camera.
The Age of Adaline actress, 28, starred as popular “It” girl Serena Van Der Woodsen on Gossip Girl for six seasons, from 2007 to 2012. Priestley was one of the studs who led the cast of 90210 for 10 seasons, from 1990 to 2000.
“(Shh don’t tell @robynlively),” Lively added, along with a series of emoji faces.
Priestley and Lively’s older half-sister Robyn Lively dated briefly during that time. (Robyn, 43, was best known for her lead role in the 1989 hit Teen Witch.)
In April 2014, the Twin Peaks actress looked back at her iconic role as Louise Miller, 25 years after the film’s debut, telling BuzzFeed that she realized how big Teen Witch had become when Ricki Lake fangirled over her at a party — which she attended with Priestley.
“I’ll tell you when it really hit me: In the early ’90s, I went to a party with Jason Priestley, who I was dating at the time,” she said. “We went to a party at Ricki Lake’s house, and she freaked out when she saw me. She’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re Teen Witch! My gay best friend and I love your movie. We know every line, all the dance moves, all the songs.’”
