What a guy! Blake Shelton may be a country superstar, but he’s not above lending a helping hand to his fellow man. When Roho Hartman of Oklahoma was headed home one night recently, he found himself stranded after Tropical Storm Bill turned a road on his route into a river.
Hartman told local News Channel 4 that he saw another vehicle ahead of him pass through successfully, so he decided to drive through the watery path too. But he didn’t fare quite as well. Instead, Hartman’s truck stalled, and he and another person were forced to try to push it up a hill.
And then Hartman’s knight in shining Dodge rolled up with a tow rope.
“The guy said, ‘Are you ready!’” Hartman recalled. “‘That looks like Blake Shelton.’ That’s exactly what I thought. And I said, ‘Yeah! I’m ready!’”
But The Voice coach, 39, didn’t just drive away after helping Hartman get his truck up the hill. He also gave the man a ride home.
During the drive home, Hartman's wife called. “I said, ‘Blake Shelton pulled me out and he’s gonna bring me on home!’ I said, ‘You better … you better slick up!’”
Before heading on his way, Shelton, who was born in Oklahoma and just celebrated his birthday on Thursday, June 18, posed for a few photos with the family.
“He’s a good fella, I think,” Hartman said of the star. “I like him."
Shelton has a series of live shows around the country coming up, and will also be back to coach on the upcoming season of The Voice.
