Bobby Brown: I’ll Have ‘Closure’ When Nick Gordon Is Criminally Charged

Bobby Brown revealed in a new interview that he won’t get “closure” until Nick Gordon is criminally charged for his late daughter’s Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death.

During an emotional sit-down with pastor T.D. Jakes (for a segment that will air Wednesday, September 28), the “My Prerogative” singer, 47, candidly spoke out about the recent news that Bobbi Kristina’s former boyfriend Gordon, 26, was found “legally responsible” for the 22-year-old’s tragic passing in July 2015.

“I know some things that happened to my daughter. I don’t know the specifics of what happened, but as the judge has said, he is legally responsible,” Brown explained. “I know some things that happened to my daughter, but it’s up to the D.A. now to do his job.”

The New Edition alum added: “The D.A. still hasn’t taken out criminal charges on Nick Gordon, and that’s what I’m waiting for him to do. That’s when I think I will get some closure.”

Though it’s been a tough time for Brown, he has been able to find a small amount of solace. “Just knowing that [Nick’s] legally responsible for my daughter’s death has given me a bit of calmness to waiting for the D.A.,” he shared. “There’s a lot of strange things that will come out in the criminal charges against Nick.”

As previously reported, Bobbi Kristina — Brown’s daughter with the late Whitney Houston — was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Georgia home in January 2015, which was eerily similar to the pop diva’s February 2012 death. Bobbi Kristina died last summer following a six-month medically induced coma. One month later, the R&B scion’s estate filed a $50 million wrongful death suit against her ex-beau, Gordon. On September 16, he failed to appear in court for the lawsuit, which is when a judge found him legally responsible for her death.

During his chat with Jakes, Bobby commented on the curious circumstances of Bobbi Kristina’s death. “My daughter was afraid of tubs because of what happened to her mom. So I know she wouldn’t have gotten in the tub,” he said. “I mean, it’s crazy because the tub wasn’t even full of water. It had a dustpan in it, in the bottom of the tub.”
