Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days! But typically not on live television in the middle of thousands of die-hard fans. On Friday, July 18, a ball girl for the Boston Red Sox experienced a very embarrassing moment when she accidentally caught a live ball that was still in play.
The blonde ball girl, who has gone unnamed, instantly became an Internet sensation for her LOL reaction to her blunder, dropping the ball and walking away before making some awkward facial expressions as the cameras continued to follow her.
She later was spotted mouthing, “I’ll probably get fired” to fans sitting in the first row. The Today Show reported that the girl had not, in fact, been fired and the Red Sox went on to win Friday night’s home game 5 to 4 against the Kansas City Royals.
