Happy Birthday? Brad Pitt may have turned 50 years old on Wednesday, Dec. 18, but the Hollywood A-lister isn't partying it up or searching for his very own heart-shaped island to buy to celebrate. Instead, the 12 Years a Slave star is doing absolutely nothing – except working.
"He's not doing anything for it and he said he doesn't want any surprises," a source reveals to Us Weekly of Pitt's (lack of) birthday plans. In fact, the father of six might be feeling a little self-conscious about hitting the half-century mark. "He really doesn't want to talk about his birthday much."
Indeed, Pitt is currently too busy as he continues to film his World War II-era film Fury in London. Though the insider reveals the project has been draining, it's been "worth it." The source adds: "The film is going to be amazing."
As for his fiancee Angelina Jolie and the couple's six children, Pitt will just have to wait patiently to blow out the candles. "Brad said he's going to celebrate his birthday this weekend in Australia," the source tells Us. "That's going to be the only thing he does."
Earlier this month, the whole Jolie-Pitt gang — including Maddox, 12, Pax, 9, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 7, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 5 — went on a yacht excursion in Sydney. "They spent hours on the boat with the kids who were really cute and friendly," an eyewitness told Us of the outing.
The couple of eight years also won't be home for the next special occasion — the holidays! "They're used to celebrating wherever they're working," an insider explained to Us.
