Influencer Brooklyn McKnight is taking a stand.
McKnight, 26, shut down people criticizing women for nursing in public spaces via Instagram on Wednesday, September 23.
“Saw something recently that talked about how women shouldn’t breastfeed in public, and I personally couldn’t disagree more,” she captioned photos of herself feeding her 21-month-old baby, Archer “Archie,” while out and about.
She continued, “Feed your babies wherever and however you want!!”
McKnight went on to say that breast-feeding is “the most natural thing,” and that she’s “never felt more feminine than when [she’s] nursing.”
“Anyway, here are some photos of me BF in public places just to give the middle finger to that side of the internet🫡,” she concluded.
Her followers were quick to share their mixed opinions in the comments section.
“God forbid we use our breasts for their intended purposes. 🙄,” one commented. Another added, “If men can walk around shirtless, women can too. Also most important thing is that baby is fed… I’m not going to starve my baby just so I can find a private place to feed her. 🤦♀️.”
While some couldn’t have agreed more, others preferred more of a “modest” approach.
“I do agree but I also enjoy being modest at the same time. I think they can both exist,” one shared. “My ‘problem’ is when your whole boob is out without any type of modesty at all. I know it’s a hot take, a fed baby is the best baby, I just think a little ‘class’ wouldn’t hurt either. Just my opinion.”
A second social media user had similar thoughts, writing, “Breastfeeding is natural, of course, but for me, that doesn’t mean intimate parts of the body need to be exposed in public. You can breastfeed while still keeping yourself covered.”
McKnight welcomed Archie in January 2025 with her husband Dakota Blackburn.
She and Blackburn met while filming a “10 dates in 10 days” series for her YouTube channel in August 2020. The pair started dating in the spring of 2021.
The following year, Dakota got down on one knee and proposed to McKnight. They quickly planned their wedding and tied the knot in September 2022. For their nuptials, they had an intimate ceremony at a venue in the California redwoods.
McKnight stunned in an off-the-shoulder A-line dress with a tulle skirt adorned with lace embellishments. She made her look even more elegant with a long veil that cascaded to the ground and pearl jewelry. Blackburn, for his part, rocked a tan suit.
