Caitlyn Jenner is officially bidding adieu to her former self, Bruce Jenner. The transgender star, 65, has reportedly filed legal documents for an official sex and name change.
According to TMZ, Jenner filed the documents in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Sept. 15, but without some required personal information. The I Am Cait star is seeking to keep some details, including medical history, private, claiming that she’s received threats and fears that releasing details will make the situation worse.
In an episode of I Am Cait, friends of the reality star celebrated the former Olympian with an official name change fete at her Malibu pad. Jenner revealed her new identity on the cover of Vanity Fair’s July 2015 issue.
"It was just hell," Jenner candidly recalled in a behind-the-scenes video with Vogue while talking about how she had to hide herself under baggy clothes when she was undergoing the transition. "It was really, really tough on me."
"I had this one time where I looked from a distance and I just thought, 'Oh my god!' It was the first time I'd ever really seen an image of me, who I am,” she added during the photo shoot. "Over-the-top better than I ever thought I'd ever be, especially at my age. Seeing that image was powerful to me.”
