Cara Delevingne may be starring in the coming-of-age mystery Paper Towns, but the model-turned-actress shared a little bit of her thoughts on romance and girlfriend St. Vincent with Us Weekly at the film’s New York premiere on Tuesday, July 21.
“Love is inspiring!” the 22-year-old star said when asked how her musician love has influenced her.
Delevingne, who plays Margo in the big-screen adaptation of John Green’s best-selling young adult novel, elaborated a little more on the subject of amore. “True love comes in every form, whether it’s what you do or whether you love yourself,” she said. “True love is one of the most important things. It’s what makes the world go ‘round.”
Fellow model Karlie Kloss, who was also at the event, told Us that the now-actress and musician are “both incredible people!” The former Victoria’s Secret Angel also said of her pal Delevingne, “She has incredible energy. … She makes you laugh no matter what.”
The actress apparently also makes her girlfriend smile. On Monday, July 20, St. Vincent, 32, shared a photo on Instagram of the “best gift ever” that she received from Delevingne.
The musician, whose real name is Annie Clark, posted a shot of a white electric guitar with one special message on the back. Flipped over, the Airline Twin Tone guitar shows a note in black pen from music legend David Bowie.
St. Vincent was thrilled with the present and praised her model love for the kindness. "An Airline Twin Tone guitar signed by David Bowie," she captioned the image.
"Thank you, @caradelevingne. Best gift ever in the entire world. (Heart emoji…)"
The heart emoji comes at a time when the two women are facing breakup rumors. Reports surfaced earlier this week that the two parted ways, but they are both in New York together this week — St. Vincent was spotted at the Paper Towns premiere as well — and there has been no official confirmation on the reported split.
Just last month, Delevingne's Vogue cover hit newsstands and inside the issue she gushed about St. Vincent.
"I think that being in love with my girlfriend is a big part of why I'm feeling so happy with who I am these days," she told the magazine. "And for those words to come out of my mouth is actually a miracle."
Paper Towns opens Friday, July 24.
