Bound 2 happen? Chelsea Handler isn’t at all surprised by Kanye West‘s recent antics. In a new interview with ET Canada, the Chelsea Does star, 40, said West has been headed for trouble for years.

“I’ve always thought he’s a maniac,” Handler said on Monday, February 22. “And he just sounds like more of one. He’s delusional.”

West, 38, has dominated headlines for the past few weeks, in part because of his new album and Yeezy Season 3 collection, but also because of his frequent Twitter rants. He memorably feuded with Wiz Khalifa in late January and recently asked Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to help bail him out of his $53 million “personal debt.”

“He’s acted like this for years, and now people are acting surprised that he’s acting like this?” Handler asked ET. “He did this to Taylor Swift five or six years ago — he went up and stole her award — and no one thought he was nuts then?”

Handler was referring, of course, to West’s infamous stage-crashing at the 2009 MTV VMAs, when he interrupted Swift’s Best Female Video acceptance speech to praise Beyonce. The two later made up, but West recently stirred things up again when he rapped about the “Out of the Woods” singer in his new song “Famous.”

A few days after the track dropped, West caused a scene backstage at Saturday Night Live. Angry that his set had been altered at the last minute without his approval, he threatened to leave mid-show. In leaked audio, he can be heard calling Swift a “fake ass” and venting his frustration about the changes to his performance.

“He’s not stable and he’s delusional,” Handler told ET on Monday. “And now he’ll have a mental breakdown in front of everybody.”

A source tells Us Weekly, however, that West is actually very in control. “Kanye is not crazy — or stupid,” the insider says. “What he does on Twitter is performance art. It is all part of his performance.”
