Does Dad approve? On Wednesday, Nov. 18, Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska got engaged to her live-in boyfriend, Cole DeBoer. Naturally, fans immediately wanted to know what Chelsea’s dad, Randy Houska, who often offers her advice, had to say about the engagement.
The South Dakota dentist tweeted soon after the announcement, “Prince Charming > toad Ready to add another #soninlaw Lesson to you all: #DoNotSettleForLessThanYouDeserve Congrats @ChelseaHouska & Cole.”
Randy has seemingly approved of DeBoer from the start, spending time with his future son-in-law both on and offscreen. In October, Chelsea Instagrammed a smiling photo of the two, writing, “My 2 favorite guys!”
The excited bride-to-be, 24, posted a pic of her new ring and her man on Wednesday night with the caption, “He’s stuck now! @coledeboer,” to which he replied on his own Instagram account, “Glad to be stuck with this fine piece of acccce!! @chelseahouska.”
Randy teased that the proposal would be documented on the hit MTV series, sarcastically tweeting, “If only there was another season of #TeenMom2 so you could all follow along.”
Chelsea flashed her new diamond sparkler in a separate photo with the caption, “I honestly cannot believe how lucky I am. Finally found my Prince Charming and I get to be with him for the rest of my life!”
The couple has been head over heels for each other for a while, adopting a pet pig together on the last season of Teen Mom 2 and spending lots of time with Houska’s daughter, Aubree, 6.
On the Teen Mom 2 reunion special in October, Chelsea told host Dr. Drew Pinsky, “I’m so happy and grateful for Cole coming into our life and being that person [for Aubree]. But I think it’s sad that her real dad isn’t like that or doesn’t give her those same feelings.”
Aubree’s dad, Adam Lind, also had nothing but kind words for DeBoer at the reunion, saying, “If he’s a good influence in Aubree’s life, why would I want to take that away from her? He’s a good kid, a good guy.”
