Ciara Miller’s last conversation with Amanda Batula was not a lengthy one.
“Minimal is all I’ll say,” Ciara, 30, told Glamour in an interview published on Friday, April 17. “Because that’s something I will talk about at the reunion.”
Friday’s interview marked the first time Ciara spoke out after Amanda, 34, confirmed that she is dating fellow Summer House star West Wilson — who previously dated Ciara in 2023.
“It’s one thing to experience hurt behind closed doors,” Ciara said. “To experience it so publicly is like another layer, and then to have to see what you thought was your life still play out in season 10. It’s a major mindf***.”
Ciara told Glamour that she found out about Amanda and West’s romance “less than 24 hours” before the new couple posted their joint Instagram confirmation on March 31.
“One [notification] was about 45 minutes before,” Ciara added, noting that she read their lengthy statement — which has been widely criticized online — “with the rest of the world.”
Ciara said, “There’s something about the lack of being able to say each other’s names in the statement that I found very telling, but I don’t know.”
While Amanda and West took the social media route, Ciara knew she wanted to wait for the right moment to share her thoughts about the scandal.
“I want to do it in my way, in a way that feels more intentional than just a podcast or a comment under a picture,” she explained.
During the interview, Ciara also discussed how she connected with Amanda after joining Summer House during season 5 in 2021.
“Amanda just felt like a very calm spirit initially. She was someone that I always felt comfortable talking to,” she said. “She always felt like a nonjudgmental figure to go to.”
When asked whether she thinks Amanda is jealous of her, Ciara didn’t have a definitive answer.
“Jealousy is such a weird concept to me. I honestly don’t know,” she said. “I don’t know. That’s a question for her.”
Before the scandal, Ciara “definitely” thought that she had a better relationship with Amanda than West.
“I do feel like I was closer to Amanda at that particular time, but I also know she probably wasn’t going to come to my birthday dinner just because … you know the rule with her,” Ciara said, referring to her 30th birthday celebration in December 2025. “She wants to be invited, but she doesn’t necessarily want to come, which is fine because I’m totally the same way. I appreciate the invite, but I don’t want to go.”
West, meanwhile, did attend the dinner.
“I felt like we were trying to move in a more positive direction since we hadn’t spoken to each other in two years,” she recalled. “I felt like we were actually starting to be friends again.”
