CNN’s Clarissa Ward had the perfect response for President Donald Trump’s White House after the official page critiqued her dance video.

“Dancing is good for the soul 💗💃💪✌️,” the journalist, 46, wrote in a response to the White House shared via X on Wednesday, August 12.

Earlier this week, Ward posted a lighthearted Instagram Reel while traveling for a work assignment. The chief international correspondent’s video included a montage of her dancing around in various travel destinations as Peaches & Herb’s hit “Shake Your Groove Thing” played in the background.

“When you get an assignment that is just good fun …. Feeling PUMPED! Can you tell? 🤣💃🤪,” she captioned the reel uploaded on Tuesday, August 12.. “Drinks on me for anyone who can guess what I’m going to cover. Actually, there are some pretty blatant clues in there so you might have to settle for a like.”

At one point in the video, Ward donned a pair of solar eclipse goggles seemingly hinting that she would be part of CNN’s coverage of the upcoming total eclipse.

“✌️and 💗 and remember, if you’re not laughing your ass off and making a tit out of yourself, you’re doing this wrong!!” she continued.

After Ward posted the video, the White House’s Official Rapid Response account reshared the clip with some harsh criticism.

“Imagine being a self-described “serious” journalist at CNN and acting like a complete freak in public, embarrassing yourself all for some social media clicks,” the post shared via X read on Tuesday. “Honey, nobody wants to watch that hot mess. @clarissaward.”

Several social media users called out the White House for their response especially when the account has posted clips of Trump, 80, dancing in the past.

“You f***ing dorks tweet about the Trump dance all the time,” Pod Save America’s Tommy Vietor replied alongside a post from the Rapid Response account that showed Trump dancing at a FIFA world cup event in December 2025.

Another social media user shared a GIF of Trump dancing at another event and asked the account, “Is this your guy?”

Other users also called out the person behind the Rapid Response account for being unprofessional.

“Whoever is behind this rapid response account should be completely embarrassed. Try being professional for once in your life and not attack citizens,” one user replied while another responded, “Can you hand the log in for this page back to an adult please.”
