Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, a.k.a. the musical duo Dan + Shay, are throwing their hats in the ring to be the performers at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.
“I think ‘Speechless’ would be a pretty solid choice,” Mooney, 34, exclusively told Us Weekly at the Tight Ends and Friends Concert presented by Reese’s and Sports Illustrated at The Pinnacle in Nashville on Tuesday, June 23, when asked what song he and Smyers, 38, would sing at the nuptials if asked by the couple.
“Or ‘From The Ground Up,’” he added. “We got a lot of wedding songs. I think if they asked us to sing at their wedding, we’d sing ‘Happy Birthday’ if they want us to. We’ll sing whatever they want us to.”
Mooney added that he’s a “big fan” of Kelce and Swift, both 36, who are expected to tie the knot this summer.
“So happy for them,” the country singer continued. “That’s gonna be an amazing moment, not just for the public and the fans watching that, of loving love. But I’m happy for them, too, as people. They’re both really great, great human beings. So it’s awesome to see them get together, and it’s pretty amazing.”
Dan + Shay performed a surprise set at the concert on Tuesday, which was part of Tight End University, an annual training camp for tight ends founded by NFL stars Kelce, George Kittle and Greg Olsen. The musical lineup also included Kane Brown, Hardy, Chase Rice, Jon Pardi, Nate Smith, Mitchell Tenpenny, The War and Treaty and even Swift herself, who performed a “Love Story” duet with Lainey Wilson.
“[‘Love Story’] was a very special request from a very special tight end,” Swift told fans as she took to the stage. “He wanted to hear this particular song, and that tight end … is named George Kittle.”
This marked Swift’s second year in a row performing at the event after her surprise appearance last year, where she sang her 2014 hit “Shake It Off.”
Fans of Swift and Kelce, who began dating in the summer of 2023 and got engaged in August 2025, are eagerly awaiting the pair’s upcoming wedding. While the location and date of the nuptials are not confirmed, one popular theory suggests the couple will exchange vows at Madison Square Garden over the July 4 holiday weekend.
Though Swift and Kelce have not directly addressed the MSG rumors, Kittle, 32, shared the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s reaction to the speculation during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday.
“We don’t know,” Kittle told the outlet when asked if MSG would be the couple’s wedding venue. “I actually asked Travis last night, and he laughed at me.”
Kittle added, “I’m half expecting there to just be a jumbo jet on a runway. And they put us on a plane somewhere. I don’t have expectations. I know it’s going to be amazing. I’m wearing a blue suit, so that’s all I’ve got.”
