Demi Lovato is sticking by her girl. The newly pink-haired singer revealed to Ryan Seacrest Friday night that friend Selena Gomez is "doing real well" after ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber's DUI arrest.
"We're really, really close," Lovato, 21, said talking to On Air With Ryan Seacrest at the KIIS-FM pre-Grammys party on Jan. 24. "And any advice I had for her, we talked last night and it's between us. But I love her so much."
As previously reported, Gomez grabbed dinner with the former X Factor mentor in West Hollywood on Thursday, Jan. 23, hours after Bieber was arrested in Miami, Fla., for DUI and drag racing. The "Heartbreaker" singer then appeared in bond court, and set bail at $2,500: $1,000 for resisting arrest, $1,000 for DUI, and $500 for an expired license.
"We have an incredible friendship," Lovato said of Gomez, 21. "[She's] strong! She's doing really well right now!" (Gomez spent time with Spring Breakers costar Ashley Benson at a pre-Grammys party at the Beats Music Launch Party At Belasco Theatre later that night.)
Bieber also seems to be doing well since posting bail. The 19-year-old troubled star waved to fans while sitting on top of an SUV after being released from jail Thursday afternoon. He later compared himself to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, by posting the image via Instagram alongside a photo of the late Jackson. Jackson's black and white snapshot was taken when he waved to his fans after pleading not guilty in child-molestation charges in January 2004.
The next night, the teen heartthrob broke his silence via Twitter. "YOU ARE ALL WORTHY NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS," he wrote. "BE STRONG GOD IS WITH US ALL. MY BELIEBERS CHANGED MY LIFE> I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL."? Bieber has since left his Miami rental home and is now in Panama.
