Diane Kruger on Possibly Marrying Joshua Jackson: ‘My Dilemma’

Will they or won’t they? Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson are in no rush to get married. The Sky actress played coy when asked about a possible ceremony during a new interview with Net-a-Porter’s “The Edit.”

“Welcome to my dilemma!” she said. (Kruger was previously married to actor Guillaume Canet from 2001 to 2006.)

Kruger may be indifferent to remarrying, but she definitely wants to experience motherhood. “I feel very European and I think that I’m going to grow old in Paris,” added Kruger, who was raised in Germany. “I have this fantasy of raising my kids there one day.”

Kruger, 39, and Jackson, 37, have fielded questions about marriage since they began dating in 2006. Back in 2012, Jackson opened up to Us Weekly about the subject.

“Marriage is important for the people it’s important for, but neither one of us is particularly religious, so I don’t think there’s any particular push,” he told Us. “But never say never! I don’t know.”

The low-key couple have been focusing on their careers instead. Kruger just wrapped the crime drama The Infiltrator, and Jackson is gearing up for season 3 of Showtime’s The Affair — which Kruger doesn’t watch.

“He would rather [I] not, [with] all the sex scenes,” she explained. “I think it brings up uncomfortable conversations.”

When not on set, the pair usually make a point to catch up with friends. According to “The Edit,” the pair have rented a house for the past five years with a small group to wind down while attending the music festival Coachella in Indio, California.

“I’m a loner. I think it has held me back in my life quite a bit. I’m socially awkward with people in a bigger group,” Kruger, who says she didn’t have “a great private life” until recently, explained. “People often say they think I’m cold or standoffish, but I’m just not a good schmoozer at all. And that’s not good in my job because, obviously, it is a big requirement.”
