Lane was playing in the shallows of a lagoon at a Disney World resort on Tuesday when he was grabbed by a seven-foot alligator. After hours of searching, local officials found the toddler’s body and later announced that he died from “drowning and traumatic injuries.” The boy was visiting the theme park with his parents and his 4-year-old sister, Ella.

A mass service in memory of Lane will also be held for the local Elkhorn community at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Sunday, June 19.
