Django Unchained's Daniele Watts and her boyfriend Brian Lucas have been charged with lewd conduct after allegedly having sex in the front seat of a car on a public street, the New York Daily News reports.

As Us Weekly previously reported, the Partners star was handcuffed and briefly accused of indecent exposure along with Lucas on Thursday, Sept. 11, after police were called to a road in Studio City, Los Angeles, by a witness claiming they were having sex in public.

No charges were brought at that time, and officers released the pair. In police audio later obtained, the actress, 28, was heard accusing officers of racial profiling, claiming she was being targeted because she was black and her boyfriend Lucas, 43, was white.

Both Watts and Lucas then went public with their side of the story, taking to social media to have their say on events.

Watts expressed her anger and frustrations on Facebook, writing, "I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers from the Studio City Police Department after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place."

Lucas claimed police had believed his actress girlfriend was a prostitute.

But despite their protestations, the pair now face arraignment on Thursday, Nov. 13 for one charge each of misdemeanor lewd conduct, the Los Angeles City Attorney told the Daily News.

"We were sent a collection of evidence from law enforcement and after review, our prosecutors felt filing was appropriate," spokesman Frank Mateljan said.

If convicted, they face a maximum of six months in jail and a fine of $1,000.
