During her postnuptial chat about her column, Barrymore, 41, revealed her favorite part about their wedding was when her groom gave his speech.

“Watching my husband give his speech to everyone was amazing. I was so in awe of his eloquence and articulation,” she said that the time. “I was super turned on, excited, proud. I had so many wonderful emotions!”

Kopelman, an art dealer, was equally infatuated with Barrymore. “Sometimes whom you least expect is the person you fall for. It was a combination of moments: watching her with my nephew. Traveling with her. Going to museums with her. I knew, adding them up, this was it,” he told Marie Claire in 2014.

During the interview, Barrymore admitted she’d rather hang out with Kopelman, 38, than attempt to perfect an A-list physique.

“I will never be that woman who gets up at 5 a.m. to exercise,” she told the magazine. “I’d rather curl up with my husband and my dogs.”

While chatting with Us Weekly in November 2015, the E.T. alum said that she was willing to make sacrifices to make her hubby happier.

“My husband and I compromise on a lot of things.… It’s the little things that you can change that can make the relationship stronger,” she explained to Us. “Compromise is about changing yourself for the better. It’s an opportunity for you to become a more functional, better person. That’s the balance of life. The agony and the ecstasy — that’s the seesaw we’re all on.”

“[Will’s] my home now.… It makes me almost want to cry. He’s the father of my child and I’m the mother of his child. I’m finally a part of a family and it’s a miracle,” she told the mag following their first child Olive’s birth. “I’m a Kopelman now. I have stationery that says ‘Drew Barrymore Kopelman.’”

Barrymore and Kopelman — who welcomed their second child, Frankie, in April 2014 — celebrated their third anniversary with a trip to Japan in June 2015.
