Dancing With the Stars' Niecy Nash tells UsMagazine.com she is proud to represent curvy women on the dance floor.
"I don't have a plan to conform to Hollywood at all!" Nash, 40, told UsMagazine.com after her DWTS debut last week. "I like the thickness. I danced tonight for every girl who's not a size 2. I danced for redemption, and I danced for a dream deferred! If you've ever had something you wanted to do – tonight, let me tell you, I got to be the lead girl in a dance in a shiny costume with all eyes on me and my jiggly parts!"
Judges enjoy watching her as well: On Tuesday, she and partner Louis van Amstel earned a 21 for their fox-trot. Len Goodman even called her a "revelation."
"Niecy inspires me," her partner Amstel, 37, told Us after the show. "Sometimes she is goofing off, and I think, 'Oh, that's nice!' and I put it into the routine. I love that."
Tensions ran high on Monday's show as rehearsal footage showed Kate Gosselin and partner Tony Dolovani bickering. (He even quit but eventually returned to the show.) "A lot of people are having arguments with their partner," Nash said. "I'm so grateful we're not in that place."
If Nash and Amstel return next week, what can we expect?
Said Amstel: "Something extremely different and actually quite sentimental!"
