Dylan O’Brien is recuperating following a serious accident on Thursday, March 17, his rep confirms to Us Weekly. The actor, 24, was hurt on the set of his upcoming film, The Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
“He was in an accident and is being treated in a local hospital,” his rep tells Us.
The film’s production company 20th Century Fox also released a statement. “Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ in Vancouver, Canada,” the statement reads. “He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.”
According to TMZ, the Teen Wolf star was reportedly run over by a vehicle while filming a scene and may have suffered multiple broken bones.
O’Brien plays Thomas in the movies, which were adapted from James Dashner‘s book trilogy. The Maze Runner: The Death Cure is the third film in the franchise, and is scheduled to hit theaters in 2017.
