Ellen DeGeneres Causes a Scene on CVS Shopping Trip With Michelle Obama for Her Show

Ellen, behave! Ellen DeGeneres caused a scene while shopping at CVS with first lady Michelle Obama during a pre-taped segment that aired on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, September 14.

The 58-year-old talk-show host goofed off while taking Obama, 52, through the aisles of the popular chain store, which DeGeneres jokingly said stood for “Cotton, Vaseline and Stuff.”

“All right, here we go, Michelle,” DeGeneres said as the pair walked into the store while flanked by Secret Service agents. “There’s coupons, because you’re gonna need these probably. It’s been a while. And you push the basket because nobody’s gonna push it for you.”

Among the shenanigans the pair got into: trying to figure out a Coinstar machine, opening a box of wine in the middle of the store and pointing out a scary Halloween doll that DeGeneres likened to former Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders.

At one point, the veteran talk-show host started using a back scratcher on the first lady as Obama, wearing a Raquel Allegra shirt, was trying to pick out a pair of earphones for daughter Sasha.

When Obama demanded that DeGeneres “chill out on the itching,” the talk-show host then began to scratch the store manager’s head with the back scratcher.
