Eva Longoria had no need to hire a wedding organizer for her nuptials to longtime love José “Pepe” Bastón. The Desperate Housewives alum revealed on Thursday, June 2, that her now-sister-in-law Rosalia Bastón, who just so happens to be an event planner, took charge of every last detail for the Mexican nuptials.
“We automatically used her and that’s how we were kind of able to keep it quiet, because we kept it in the family. She really did everything,” Longoria, 41, told Us Weekly and other reporters at MeWe Presents the Premiere Of Lifetime’s Devious Maids season 4 event, presented at STK Los Angeles.
“Then we had my dear friend Troy Williams, who’s a wedding planner here [in L.A.], to kind of put the American touch on it because, if not, we’re going to be having dinner at 11! I’m like, ‘Troy, please help Americanize a little bit, because I’m Mexican American.’ So, Troy did that and helped out on that side,” she added. “And then we had Preston Bailey who did the flowers,” she said of the well-known celebrity florist. “So, I didn’t have to do anything. There was no wedding planning, it planned itself. I loved it because I was so busy.”
In fact, Longoria even had an inside track when it came to her wedding dress. The actress’ good friend Victoria Beckham designed the white fitted gown, which featured a sweetheart neckline.
“I kept going, like, ‘Isn’t there more I should be worried about?'” Longoria said of her special day. “And it was never the case.”
As previously reported, Longoria and Televisa president Pepe, 47, went public with their relationship in November 2013, and announced their engagement in December 2015. Their big day (and honeymoon in Cambodia) might be over, but the newlyweds brought home something special to always remember it — matching red bracelets.
“[It was a] wedding blessing from a monk,” Longoria explained to Us on Thursday. “He tied this on my hand and one on Pepe’s and then he blessed us with jasmine flowers. It’s like a wedding thing that they do. It was really beautiful.”
