A security guard died Monday, Sept. 15, after he was hit by a truck on the Vancouver set of TNT's Falling Skies.

Scott McCloy, a spokesperson for WorkSafeBC, told The Hollywood Reporter that the tragedy occurred after an unattended five-ton truck rolled down the hill and struck the guard. "The truck rolled backwards down the slope and caught the deceased worker between the tailgate and a tree," McCloy told THR.

McCloy added that WorkSafeBC, local police, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are working together to investigate the guard's death.

A TNT spokesperson addressed the incident in a statement to Deadline on Tuesday, Sept. 16. "We are deeply saddened by this tragic event, and on behalf of the producers and TNT, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family of the security guard," the rep said.

Filming on the fifth and final season of Falling Skies, a sci-fi show executive produced by Steven Spielberg, is currently shut down.
