All good? The cast of Fast 8 shared a group photo and message on Facebook Friday, August 12, after filming wrapped on the latest installment of the franchise. The happy post comes amid the rumored feud between Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
As previously reported by Us Weekly, Johnson dubbed one of his male costars a “chicken s–t” “candy ass” in an Instagram rant August 8. The wrestler has yet to confirm whether his beef is indeed with Diesel, but a report from TMZ last week led fans to speculate that the two are at odds.
Friday’s Facebook post showed no evidence of any strife, however. “For our final #FastFridays post, all of us in the Fast Family wanted to thank you for coming on the ride with us during this epic production,” the post read. “We wanted to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to those who have worked so hard over the past 100 days to bring you a movie that is going to be another incredible installment of our saga. Everything we do comes from our shared passion to bring you the very best.”
The post, which included a photo of the cast — including Diesel and Johnson — also gave a shout-out to Diesel for serving as a producer on the film.
“Thank you, Vin, who has been at the wheel since this journey began, first as star and then as producer. …” the post continued. “And thanks to all of the cast of the eighth Fast: Michelle, who’s also been with us from the start. …Those who’ve joined our family along the way: Tyrese and Chris from Miami in our second film; Dwayne and Elsa, who came onboard in Rio in movie five; Jason, Nathalie and Kurt from last time around; and our newest members Charlize, Scott, Kristofer and Helen. … And our brother who continues to inspire us all, Paul.”
The post concluded with a note that they’ll “be back in December with your first look at what we’ve created for you.”
Diesel hinted at an explanation for the feud with Johnson in several Facebook Live videos last week. On August 10 and 11, the XXX actor teased fans by saying that he’d “tell us everything” once he watched the film back.
