Here Are the 5 Can’t Miss Moments From the Republican National Convention’s Biggest Night

It was yuuuuuge. Donald Trump’s acceptance speech on Thursday, July 21, the last night of the Republican National Convention, drew plenty of responses from supporters and critics alike. Here, Us Weekly has rounded up the five can’t miss moments from the evening. Watch the video above!

The Republican presidential candidate, 70, kicked off his speech with a number of “thank you”s and a triumphant chant of “USA! USA! USA!” — and then proceeded to keep the energy going for nearly an hour an a half. (Trump later told reporters that the only reason his speech ran so long was because the audience couldn’t stop cheering and applauding.)

Among his talking points were an insistence that his opponent, Hillary Clinton, is desperately “out of touch,” while complimenting his daughter Ivanka and wife, Melania, on their speeches.

As previously reported, Melania, 46, came under fire earlier in the week when several lines in her speech bore an uncanny resemblance to those of Michelle Obama’s speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

“To all Americans tonight, in all of our cities and in all of our towns, I make this promise: We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again,” Trump closed out his speech. “God bless you and good night, I love you!"
