Edward who? Millions of fans flocked to theaters to see Robert Pattinson bristle and brood as the lovesick vamp Edward Cullen in 2008's Twilight (and its four equally emo sequels) — but Pattinson's own fiancee, FKA twigs, was not among them.
Speaking about her beau of nearly a year in a new interview with the UK's Sunday Times, the "Video Girl" singer, 27, admitted she had yet to see the actor in his most famous role — the role that catapulted him and then-girlfriend Kristen Stewart to mega-stardom.
"I don't understand what the levels [of fame] are," the British musician told the Times. "I'm a bit naive. I don't read Heat [magazine], for example. I don't engage in that world, even with myself, even with my own career."
Indeed, twigs (real name: Tahliah Debrett Barnett) bristles at any suggestion of conformity or routine. Asked to describe an "average day" in her life, she told the paper, "I don't have an average day. I hate that kind of thing."
Later, she added, "It's so bad to be basic." With that in mind, she works hard to be anything but, and demands "full creative control over all her projects," the Times notes.
"No one tells me what to do," she said. "It's easy. I'm not like a package pop star. For my next album I want to write my own music because it'll make me feel more in control of my career. This is what I've always been."
She has no plans to change now just because she's more famous — but the attention has taken some getting used to. As she shared with the Sunday Times, she's taken some abuse from Twihards who were less than thrilled about her relationship with Pattinson, 29, after his split from Stewart, 25, the Bella to his Edward. (The costars broke up for good in May 2013, a little less than a year after Stewart's July 2012 fling with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.)
"I don't feel anything anymore," twigs said of their tweets, many of which included racist insults. "I've only cried once over it."
These days, the singer and her actor husband-to-be are content to lay low. Save for their red carpet debut at the 2015 Met Gala in New York City, they make a point to avoid places where they might be photographed. "I absolutely love it," she told the paper of their life. "That's all I want to be, I'm such a home bod."
