Former President George H.W. Bush fell at home in Kennebunkport, Maine, on Wednesday, July 15, and broke a bone in his neck. The 41st president’s spokesperson Jim McGrath made the statement via Twitter.

“41 fell at home in Maine today and broke a bone in his neck. His condition is stable — he is fine — but he’ll be in a neck brace,” McGrath informed followers of the politician.

Bush, who turned 91 last month, uses a wheelchair because he can no longer walk on his own.

The tumble comes after the former Commander in Chief was hospitalized last December after experiencing shortness of breath.

Bush surprised the world in 2014 by celebrating his 90th birthday with a skydiving trip. To ring in his 91st birthday, he kept things a bit more low-key and celebrated at his home in Maine.
