Congratulations! Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is engaged to be married. The lucky man? Formula One boss Christian Horner, who she's been dating since the start of the year.
The happy couple made the announcement by featuring their forthcoming nuptials in the British newspaper The Times on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Following in the footsteps of Brit actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who announced his engagement to Sophie Hunter the same way less than a week ago, the couple paid over £300 for the ad in the paper’s Births, Deaths, and Marriages section, a posh way of announcing engagements in England.
"Mr. C.E.J. Horner OBE and Geri Halliwell, The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr. L.F. Halliwell and Mrs. A. Parkinson," the listing reads.
Ginger Spice, 42, went public with her 40-year-old beau in March 2014, although the couple have been friends for the past five years. Both Halliwell and Horner have children from previous relationships (Halliwell has an 8-year-old daughter Bluebell, and Horner has a 1-year-old little girl, Olivia).
Horner, team principal of Infiniti Red Bull Racing, split from his ex-wife Beverly Allen shortly after she gave birth to their daughter.
Halliwell, who has had brief flings with Russell Brand and Robbie Williams, split from her last boyfriend, Anton Kaszubowski in 2012, after discovering he was still married. She has never confirmed the identity of Bluebell's father, although it has been reported that screenwriter and director Sacha Gervasi is her dad.
