Not cool. Gigi Hadid fought back after a stranger physically put his hands on her during Milan Fashion Week in Italy on Thursday, September 22.
As seen in photos, an unidentified man grabbed Hadid, 21, from behind and lifted her in the air. She pushed back, appeared to elbow him and later grabbed hold of a metal barricade. Security stepped in while bystanders looked on.
Hadid was leaving the Max Mara show with her younger sister, fellow model Bella Hadid, at the time of the incident.
"I'm a human being and I had every right to defend myself," Gigi tweeted after the incident to her more than 3 million followers. "How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to man-handle a complete stranger. He ran quick tho."
Bella, 19, reacted to the situation, too. She retweeted two comments from a fan Twitter account. "Men needs to learn the boundaries about touching women like this isn't acceptable in society. I hate it when they aren't listening," one comment read. "Who [the f—k] do you think you are trying grabbing Gigi without your consent, it is NEVER okay to grab someone let alone a woman. Educate yourself."
"I’m an athletic person. But I love my body because I know what it’s been through to be what it is. And honestly I’m not going to change for someone that is depressed about their life," she said at the time. "The Victoria’s Secret Angels aren’t going anywhere; I’m not going anywhere; plus-sized models aren’t going anywhere."
