Cody Simpson is the lucky boyfriend of a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model! Gigi Hadid, the 18-year-old daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster, was featured for the first time modeling sexy bikinis in the 2014 50th Anniversary issue.
“I’m so stoked for her,” Simpson, 17, told Us Weekly at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Celebrates 50 Years of Swim party in New York City on Tuesday, Feb. 18. “I saw it for the first time this morning. We were together and the photos came out online and I’m just so excited for her. I’m so proud of her. It’s unreal.”
Us Weekly exclusively broke news that the “Summer Shade” singer and model Hadid were dating back in November. At the time, multiple sources said the couple had been together for five months.
Simpson told Us that his girlfriend was a little nervous about seeing her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photos for the first time. “She was like, ‘I hope I look good!’ And I was like, ‘Babe, you look amazing all the time,'” he recalled. “She’s one of the most beautiful girls ever.”
Hadid had equally as nice things to say about her man. “I’m so lucky. I have the best boyfriend,” she gushed to Us. “He’s just so kind, he’s so nice to me. We are such a good fit.”
Though she was anxious to see the final product, the swimsuit model said she felt completely comfortable during her sexy photo shoot. In the issue, Hadid goes topless while modeling Trunkettes’ aqua mod bikini bottom.
“The whole Sports Illustrated team and family are such a delight to work with. The first thing they do is give you tons of bathing suits and then ask you which ones do you feel most comfortable with,” Hadid explained. “I just felt so confident in myself because of the confidence they gave me . . . they have made me feel so good about every shot.”
