Cody Simpson

Cody Simpson grew up in Queensland, Australia, where he went to private school and won two gold medals at the 2009 Queensland Swimming Championships. He started making YouTube videos of himself singing songs by Justin Timberlake, Jason Mraz and other artists in 2009.

Simpson released his debut single, “iYiYi,” in 2010. His first album, Paradise, came out two years later. He competed on Dancing With the Stars season 18 with Witney Carson in 2014 between the releases of his albums Surfers Paradise and Free.

Simpson has also worked as an actor, appearing in his own interactive movie titled Finding Cody in 2012 and making guest appearances on Instant Mom and Cougar Town. He played the lead role of Dmitry in the Broadway musical Anastasia from 2018 to 2019.

Simpson dated Gigi Hadid from 2013 to 2014. He started dating his longtime friend Miley Cyrus in October 2019 after her splits from husband Liam Hemsworth and girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter.
