There is no such thing as bad publicity. Gwyneth Paltrow‘s Goop Mrkt pop-up shop in NYC was robbed this weekend, but her mom, Blythe Danner, told Us Weekly on Thursday, Dec. 10, that her daughter is seeing the crime from a positive angle.
Paltrow’s Goop pop-up near Manhattan’s Columbus Circle was robbed of more than $170,000 worth of items on Saturday, Dec. 5. The New York Police Department told Us Weekly that three males, caught on surveillance footage, made off with several pricey items including three Rolex watches and two bracelets.
Danner, 72, who called her daughter right away, was surprised by 43-year-old Paltrow’s reaction. “She said, ‘You know, it’s okay. It’s more attention. It’s more publicity for Goop,'” Danner recalled of their conversation. “She always has a great spin on things. I admire her tenacity. She’s so much like her dad.”
The I’ll See You in My Dreams actress also told Us what the family has planned for the holidays. “We try to be [together],” Danner told Us of her family. “There have been a couple times that it hasn’t worked out, but I also have two grandchildren on this coast and two on the other coast, so I have to straddle the country.” (Paltrow shares two kids, Apple, 11, and Moses, 9, with her ex Chris Martin.)
Luckily, her daughter does everything, including handling matters in the kitchen. “She’s a phenomenal cook,” Danner gushed. “She just loves it. But she’s also just so great at it. Everything is so gorgeous you almost don’t want to eat it! But you do, because it’s delicious, and usually really healthy too. She’s really mastered that art.”
