When it comes to her marriage to Tom Kaulitz, Heidi Klum isn’t afraid to make things spicy.
“I mean, we definitely ‘exercise’ a lot,” Klum, 53, shared in Us Weekly’s cover story on newsstands now. “The kind of exercise without machines. I think it’s important to exercise a lot because there is a different kind of connection when you exercise. It’s hard to explain, but the souls connect — not just the body and the flesh. The hearts connect and the soul connect in a different kind of way when you exercise together.”
Married since 2019, the couple have become each other’s biggest cheerleaders as they navigate jam-packed schedules and successful careers. (Klum is currently serving as a judge on Project Runway while Kaulitz, 36, is the guitarist for the band Tokio Hotel.)
While Klum acknowledged their age gap, the supermodel made it clear they have so much in common, including their history in Germany.
“There’s a different understanding being with someone from Germany and has the same roots,” Klum said. “We also have a lot of the same morals, and I think that’s also very important.”
While Klum joked that Kaulitz is “getting a little too old for me,” she quickly praised her husband for “aging well.”

Looking ahead, she’s excited to join him on tour this fall as he rocks out to sold out crowds around the world.
“This year, he’s going to be on tour all of November,” she said. “I’m going on tour with him, and you know I’d be the fan girl in the front, pulling up my T-shirt and throwing my bra. I was just in Barcelona with Elle MacPherson, and she’s touring with her boyfriend, who’s the guitar player for Eric Clapton.”
While Klum’s schedule doesn’t allow her to see every show, the television host believes there’s nothing more special than seeing your partner do what he or she loves.
“It’s beautiful to see your spouse doing what they love doing,” she explained. “A lot of the time, Tom will come and be on set and see when I’m doing something. We try to be there for each other and watch what the other one does, and it’s fun.”
