Tell Us what it is! Queen of Halloween Heidi Klum teased her 2015 Halloween costume via Instagram on Friday, Oct. 2, and shared more details about her favorite holiday in a recent exclusive interview with Us Weekly.
Klum, 42, famous for her outrageous Halloween costumes (and parties!) year after year, teased 2015’s look in strange new photos and videos. “It’s almost time for my favorite holiday!” the German supermodel wrote, alongside a photo of herself encased in a plaster-like molding with a horn-type of headpiece. “Costume prep time with the team at @prorenfx Can’t wait for Halloween!”
She followed up with several additional photos from the experimental session which included a bucketful of light goopy paint slathered all over her body and head. “So yucky but so worth it in the end,” she remarked. “#heidihalloween #heidiklumhalloween.”
Klum followed up with a separate video of the messy process, which included another layering of dark blue paint. “Thanks @prorenfx team for making my crazy costume idea a reality,” she captioned the last post of the Prosthetic Renaissance team doing their work.
Last month, Us Weekly caught up with Klum at INC’s 30th Anniversary Collection launch party during New York Fashion Week. The Project Runway host told Us that she was testing out some options for her annual party, and reflected back on her past costumes.
“I like be the queen of something!” Klum joked with Us about her moniker as the Queen of Halloween. “I always like to surprise. I don’t like to tell people what I’m gonna do because people have a certain expectation of what it’s gonna be like. I like to just show up and not tell anyone what it’s gonna be.”
Last year, she morphed into a psychedelic butterfly, and previous getups have included an old woman, a gorilla, an over-the-top Cleopatra, a giant apple, a Hindu goddess, and even, Lady Godiva (complete with a horse!).
Klum thought her 95-year-old persona in 2013 was pretty memorable. “Yeah, that was pretty amazing. When I walked out of the car… It was awkward,” she told Us of her elderly look. “It took probably 9 hours to get ready because every piece of skin that was exposed, everything, my knuckles, my neck, my boob, everything had to be done. So it was all prosthetics… I had like yellow teeth. I had those contact lenses that give you a cloudy thing. It was pretty intense.”
