Her bonding boys! Hilary Duff wished her estranged husband Mike Comrie a happy 34th birthday via Instagram on Thursday, Sept. 11.
“Happy birthday Mikey! Have a great boys day,” she wrote next to a heart emoji. The “Chasing the Sun” singer, 26, shared a sweet snapshot of the former NHL player, 34, carrying their 2-year-old son Luca and rocking a child backpack.
The former Disney star is currently in Australia on business promoting her upcoming album, and briefly opened up about her relationship status earlier this week.
“We’ve uncoupled, for now. I mean, if there wasn’t a chance for getting back [together], I think we would’ve filed for divorce,” she said, in a nod to Gwyneth Paltrow’s “conscious uncoupling” phrase, to Buzzfeed. “I talk about this so much, I really don’t want to talk about it anymore. But we are like… I just talked to him this morning! We really care a lot about each other.”
The couple announced their split in January after three years of marriage, but haven’t gone their separate ways on a day-to-day basis. “I don’t think Mike would ever go anywhere,” Duff told Us Weekly in May at the ASPCA Cocktail Party in Beverly Hills. “I mean, we are really dedicated to taking care of Luca, and we’re really good friends who spend a lot of time together.”
