Influencer Dannah Eve has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

“I wanted to give an update now that I’ve had a little bit of time to digest everything,” Eve, 34, began in an Instagram video shared Thursday, August 27. “This has been, without a doubt, the most challenging, emotional, psychological, physical and mental chapter of my life.”

According to Eve, her diagnosis was “not what [she] was expecting” after experiencing a series of various health symptoms.

“That diagnosis is follicular thyroid carcinoma, and those are words I’m very much still trying to wrap my head around,” the content creator stated. “The good news is that the cancer was small — the final measurement was 1.4 centimeters — and it was removed during surgery.”

She added, “My doctors consider my prognosis excellent and are currently not recommending any additional surgery or treatment, but I will be very closely monitored moving forward.”

Eve privately navigated her health battle for months after one of her social media followers alerted her to an undisclosed type of “incidental finding.”

“Right now, I am just incredibly grateful that it was found and that it’s out of my body,” she said. “I’m also incredibly grateful for each and every one of you that have reached out and sent positive vibes, thoughts and prayers or shared your own experience with me. It has meant more than I could ever put into words.”

While Eve acknowledged that she is still “working through” certain questions about her health, she is primarily grateful that the cancerous tissue “is out.”

“One final thing that I will say is that if you have a gut feeling about something or you have been putting off a doctor’s appointment, follow through [and] make the appointment,” Eve advised her followers. “Ask the questions and advocate for yourself, always. That is one of the most important pieces of advice that I can give to you.”

Eve documented her health battle via social media, revealing last month that she had undergone a thyroidectomy to remove all or part of her thyroid gland.

“I know so many of you have been checking in and asking how I’m doing. Unfortunately, this process has thrown me another blindside,” Eve wrote via Instagram on August 13, sharing a post-op update. “My final pathology was not as straightforward as we had hoped and is being sent for a second opinion and further review before we have a definitive answer.”

While Eve had been trying to “stay positive,” she was admittedly struggling waiting for her test results.

“This has already been such a mentally, emotionally and physically exhausting road and being back in a place of uncertainty after surgery has been really difficult,” she said at the time. “So, for now, I’m still taking it one day at a time, holding onto hope and waiting for answers.”
