Brazilian influencer Francisca Roberta has reportedly died. She was 21.
Brazilian outlets G1 and CNN Brasil reported on Monday, May 18, that Roberta was shot outside her home by two suspects on a motorcycle earlier this month. The two suspects fled after the incident, according to a police statement.
G1 stated that one of the suspects was killed by police that same day, while a second suspect is 17 years old and remains at large.
Roberta’s death is currently under investigation, with G1 also reporting that law enforcement is looking into whether the incident is related to the death of Roberta’s partner, who was shot and killed in 2023.
Roberta had been in a relationship with Fernando Rocha until his death. According to G1, Roberta was also shot at the time, but she ultimately survived the attack.
“People have tried to dig my grave right under my nose; they’ve tried to take my life,” Roberta claimed in a translated statement shared last month. “I’ve served as a human shield for the very people who stabbed me in the back — for absolutely no reason at all.”
She continued, “I’ve been a friend to many, but many were never true friends to me — and that is exactly why I walk alone. There are always two sides to every story.”
Roberta was an influencer with more than 12,000 Instagram followers. She last posted on the platform on May 16, sharing a carousel of images from an airport.
“My condolences,” a follower responded in the comments section, as another added, “Rest in peace, beautiful!”
A third commented, “Aunt loves you always may God put you in a good place. My daughter will be greatly missed.”
Roberta often shared lifestyle and fitness content, as well as glimpses of life with her mother, who has not publicly addressed Roberta’s death or the ongoing investigation into the circumstances.
Just two weeks before her death, Roberta reached a milestone with her platform.
“Thank you Jesus, 2 years fighting for this day,” she wrote on May 5. “The goal of 10 thousand followers is reached, welcome everyone.”
Many of Roberta’s followers were excited about the achievement.
“Congratulations, many more to come 😍😍🙌,” one follower wrote, while another added, “Congratulations, my friend, may you achieve all your dreams.”
More of Roberta’s followers have offered their condolences to her family via her comments section.
“My condolences, Roberta’s mother😢,” one Instagram user wrote, and another replied, “Aínn omg. I cried along with her ❤️.”
