Ingrid Michaelson celebrated her friend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding day in a feline-friendly way.
On Friday, July 3, the “Girls Chase Boys” singer, 46, shared a throwback video from one of Swift’s signature July 4th weekend parties, where she played with one of Swift’s cats.
It’s not entirely clear whether the kitty in question is Olivia Benson or Meredith Grey — as both have white paws — but one of them was determined to swipe a patch of red fabric from Michaelson in the clip.
“One July 3rd many years ago I was playing with Taylor Swift’s cat,” Michaelson wrote over the adorable video.
She added, “Happy wedding day to t&t.”
Michaelson did not clarify when the footage was shot but she was one of numerous celebrity guests to attend a July 4 weekend party at Swift’s “Holiday House” mansion in Rhode Island in 2014. (Lena Dunham, Jaime King, Emma Stone and Jessica Szohr were all reportedly in attendance that year as well.)
The two artists have performed together on stage multiple times throughout their careers. In a 2025 TikTok video, Michaelson recalled a fairly awkward run-in with Swift, 36, at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
“I was on the red carpet, like feeling myself … Then all of the sudden, it was like they were ushering me off [the carpet]…and I realized that Taylor Swift was coming. I look to my right, and there she is,” she remembered.
Michaelson decided to approach Swift in the middle of a media frenzy, rationalizing to herself that they’d “hung out a couple of times.”
“So I went between the panels, literally running after this woman,” she said. “And I go, ‘Taylor! Taylor!’ and of course she doesn’t turn around, because why would she turn around hearing a random woman screaming her name.”
The musician described later feeling “so pathetic” that she finally shouted, “Taylor, it’s Ingrid,” to get her attention.
“She did turn around and remembered me,” Michaelson happily reported. “We took a picture.”
Swift and Kelce, 36, are expected to tie the knot at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Friday. Their wedding was described to Us Weekly by a source as a “whimsical” ceremony inspired by the fairytales that have influenced Swift throughout her career.
Around 1,000 guests are expected to attend Friday’s wedding, while a more intimate group of 100 were invited to a rehearsal dinner at MSG on Thursday, July 2. (Dunham, 40, Selena Gomez, Bradley Cooper and girlfriend Gigi Hadid as well as George Kittle and his wife Claire Kittle reportedly made the cut for Thursday’s dinner.)
Kelce and Swift were first romantically linked in 2023. In August 2025, the Kansas City Chiefs player popped the question shortly after welcoming Swift on his “New Heights” podcast.
